The Coalition For Youth Enrichment, CYE, a committee of The Community Partnership, was formed in 2000 to respond to the Lucas County Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board's (now known as the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board) Community Plan, which identified a need for an organized body for youth serving agencies within Lucas County. The committee's mission is to convene youth service providers to encourage collaborative, inter-agency, cross-cultural leadership and activities to build a community that values and helps youth prepare for successful adult lives. CYE member organizations work to not only prevent substance abuse, but to prevent teen pregnancy and violence among youth as well. All of the committee's projects and prevention efforts are organized around this partnership between adults and youth. CYE links various groups that serve youth to coordinate goals and youth messages, prevent the overlap of services, and hold joint events. CYE's goal is to assist youth and families in building skills and assets that aid them in making healthy lifestyle choices. Events/projects include (click on the listed items to learn more about each program):
CYE members volunteer their time and efforts to carry out the group's mission and goals.
